Arizona Helping Hands - Build a Bed Project

Sunday, October 14

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Arizona Helping Hands Arizona Helping Hands assists foster families who have stepped up to provide a safe, loving environment for children in the Department of Child Safety system. Their programs are designed to provide any basic needs for these boys and girls helping one child, one dream, one family at a time. There is no agency in the State of Arizona that supplies families who take care of these children with beds. Arizona Helping Hands took up this mission and have supplied thousands of beds and cribs to boys and girls in foster care to give them a safe and comfortable place to sleep at night!

The Build a Bed project is an excellent opportunity to assist children in the foster care system. When a child is placed in a home their bed will go with them. Every year hundreds of children are removed from a home because they do not have suitable sleeping arrangements. Many more children are in group homes that cannot keep up with the demand. The typical recipient of a bed is a 2-4 years old child living in a shelter. As the family moves into permanent housing the child will keep the bed, giving an important sense of continuity during a difficult time of transition.

The Build a Bed project is an excellent way to make a POSITIVE impact on a child in need. Our volunteers will have the chance to participate in our very own Build a Bed project and will experience the joy of children receiving their beds onsite during the event. Build a Bed
